Rebecca Drury
I am a printmaker whose work is inspired by the Dorset coast, countryside and wildlife. I mainly work with linocut, often using multi-block or reduction printing techniques. Each of my prints is made entirely by hand and produced in limited editions, with each print numbered and signed.
My studio is my home in Dorchester, which is in the heart of Dorset, a county which often inspires my work. My prints often feature wild plants and animals, including otters, hares, badgers, as well as less well-known species such as the rare black oil beetle. I have always had a deep interest in nature and studied Biology at the University, of Nottingham, going on to receive an MSc and PhD in Anthropology and Environment from University College London. I have spent 20 years working in biodiversity conservation and a lifetime drawing nature.
My work is available in a range of galleries and shops in the UK. I have also delivered a number of illustration and commission projects, including the cover of Adam Henson’s book ‘Two for Joy: The Untold Ways to Enjoy the Countryside.’ My designs are currently featured on greetings cards for the National Trust.
