Art in Poundbury

Founded in 2019 and having gained CIC (a ‘not for profit’ Community Interest Company) status in 2023 Art in Poundbury was formed to celebrate and promote the enjoyment of Art in all its forms through exhibitions and other events, here in Poundbury.

We are delighted to have Lord and Lady Fellowes as our Patrons.

In 2019, 2022 and 2023 Art in Poundbury has held four collaborative exhibitions, three of which were held in Jubilee Hall. These have been a huge success involving many 2D and 3D artists, a substantial number of community stewards and several thousand visitors both locally and from further afield.

Art in Poundbury CIC are proud to sponsor after school creative kids club sessions in PiPs.

Our club members are now actively involved in offering regular  creative sessions for the ‘People Need Nature’ social prescribing project . For more information on this please go to the People Need Nature social prescribing page.

Club members also get involved in giving creative workshops in our local first schools , our senior living establishments and other community groups particularly at exhibition time.

If you would like to more about Art in Poundbury please email us on contact@artinpoundbury.co.uk or send a message via our Contact page.

As we prepare to play host to our second en plein event we wanted to explain our growth so far. In 2023 our ‘Art in the Park” en plein air event was a roaring success – ably aided and abetted by 90 artists and fabulous weather.

This short video will tell you a little bit more about who we are, what we do, and why we do it.

Jubilee Hall

The principal parts of Jubilee Hall originate from the Hall constructed in Weymouth to mark the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887 and dismantled in 1989. Ironwork from the old Hall was sourced by the Duchy of Cornwall to incorporate in a new Jubilee Hall, providing a unique community and commercial space in the heart of Poundbury. The Duchy has been delighted to welcome the first exhibition to the Hall at the time of the Platinum Jubilee 2022.

Jubilee Hall Address and Location can be found here.
