Jonathan Hodgson

Jonathan Hodgson is a professional artist and tutor who works mainly from his shop/studio in Silver Street, Ilminster. Largely self-taught; he has always had a passion for creative arts. The landscapes, wildlife and mythology of the Westcountry predominantly continues to influence his work, with references also to his travels in Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, France and Iceland.

His main medium is graphite, favouring an iconic black and white style with the occasional splash of colour and gilding, which lends itself well to his style. He loves to create works from imagination, capturing the feel and spirit of a subject as opposed to simply the look.

Alongside his imaginative creations, featuring wildlife and mythology, he also takes commissions on all subjects, including portraits.
