Silvia Pineda

Silvia is a versatile Mexican artist working across painting, sculpture and jewellery. Her paintings range from abstract and semi-abstract to more figurative work, using acrylics, oils, watercolour, linocut and mixed media. Her sculptures are primarily created in papier-mâché.

Her Mexican heritage is an important influence on her work, reflected in her vibrant use of colour, imagery and themes, alongside her fascination with nature, movement and the sea.

Silvia has exhibited her work in numerous venues and has held two successful solo exhibitions at the historic Athelhampton House in Dorset. She was also selected as the winner of an open competition to create a mural for Weymouth railway station. The completed mural is now permanently installed at the station, welcoming visitors to Weymouth.

A prolific and continually evolving artist, Silvia is always exploring new ideas, materials and ways of expressing her creativity. She is certainly an artist to watch.
