After gaining my degree in fine art at Bristol in the seventies, work, family and life took over until I picked up my brushes again in 2008. Having exhibited during DAW I became a founding director of Artwey in 2009 to promote the artists of Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester through exhibitions and open studios. I have finally retired from work and running Artwey but enjoy organising their en Plein air schedule.

In my work I have been inspired by the beauty and contrasts of Dorset, whether constructing landscapes in the studio or painting straight from life in the outdoors. Additionally I enjoy the challenge of commissions to represent whole families, their members and memories in nostalgic surroundings or still life.

My painting style can be described as vibrant colour, high contrast and keenly observed detail and i enjoy the different challenges and outcomes of various paint mediums. I have been excited to respond to this year’s title of ‘Wild Things’ with a painting to represent my interpretation.
