Martyn Warren 20260831

Martyn draws really quite detailed insect portraits in his spare time, using his own two hands and an iPad. He’s built up a collection of 50 drawings so far, and has no intention of stopping until he’s either drawn every species on the planet or expired.

There can still be an understandable degree of scepticism about digital art, but Martyn spends anywhere from 80 to 100 hours on each drawing, so he certainly can’t be accused of taking shortcuts. Or, if he does, he’s exceptionally bad at them.

Martyn was awarded a First class degree in Illustration many years ago, published a faux-scientific book about Velcro Cows, and spent a while dabbling in landscape photography before his back gave up. These days, he’s a UX designer by day and a tediously obsessive artist by night. Well, evening, really – he does have to get up for work, after all.
