Kath Oxlee

Living and working in the heart of beautiful Dorset, I am a largely self-taught artist with a deep love of colour and an endless curiosity for creative exploration. Surrounded by the ever-changing landscapes of coast, countryside, and woodland, I find constant inspiration in the natural world. Foraging, eco-printing, and observing seasonal shifts all feed into my practice, grounding my work in a strong connection to place and nature.
My creative journey has led me to experiment with a wide range of media, from paint and mixed media to textiles and printmaking. I particularly enjoy the process of combining materials and techniques—layering, stitching, printing, and painting—allowing unexpected patterns, textures, and forms to emerge. Each piece is both an exploration and a conversation, shaped as much by the materials as by intention.
For me, art is about discovery: of new techniques, of hidden beauty in the everyday, and of the way creativity can mirror life’s unfolding path. The joy of experimenting, of not always knowing the outcome, keeps my work fresh and evolving.
Ultimately, my aim is to capture the vibrancy and rhythm of the natural world while celebrating the freedom of creative play. Every work is a reflection of my surroundings, my process, and my ongoing journey.
