Nicola Butler

Nicola Butler In her 50th year Nicola received a diploma for botanical illustration from the Chelsea Physic Garden in London. She went on to win a Silver Gilt medal (narrowly missing out on a Gold having labelled her entry incorrectly!) from the RHS for eight detailed watercolour illustrations of cider apples. A number of exhibitions followed – in Scotland, Wales and Dorset. When she moved to Poundbury she recorded the apples planted in the Community Orchard to commemorate the King’s 60th birthday. Recently she has also taken up painting landscapes in water based oils and was painting n Kalymnos in September.
