Gail Davies

With a passion for the natural world—and for all the insects, plants, and creatures that live within it—I am a keen collector and close observer of nature. I’ve built up a wide collection of feathers, nests, and skulls, which I sometimes use in my creations and work, and which you may spot in my pieces.
I live in the heart of the Dorset countryside, surrounded by lanes, fields, and hedgerows, where I find endless inspiration. I grow my own vegetables, raise flowers from seed, keep bees, and share my garden with a lively mob of sparrows who happily feast on my Swiss chard. I also enjoy taking my cat, Tonka, out on countryside walks.
Through clay, printmaking, and paint, I bring the beauty of the natural world into my creations. My work has been exhibited and sold in the last three Art at Home exhibitions curated by Sarah Sclater, and I have produced commissioned pieces for both interior designers and private collectors. I have also taken part in the last three Dorset Art Weeks, where I exhibited and sold my work. Predominantly self-taught, I am continually developing my creativity and artistic practice.
