My art journey is a bit of a stop-start affair. at the grand age of 9, I won an art prize at school. As you can imagine, I was highly delighted and thought that I had made it in my future career as an artist, until someone at senior school laughed at my pictures. Being a sensitive teen, the paints were put away for a good many years. When I began working in schools, the love of art crept out, but I didn’t take myself seriously; after all, it was only a school notice board or the occasional art lesson! Throughout my life, I have picked up the paint brushes, signed up and gone to numerous classes, only to put them down again due to life commitments, until covid hit. Like many of us, a huge evaluation of life happened, and at 63 I decided to be brave and this time show other people what I had created, scary but exciting too. The response was a positive one so that was in I threw caution to the wind and started selling my work. There are still those voices in my ear that say you aren’t an artist, but hey, I tell them to shut up and plough on. I love that I am constantly learning and hopefully improving my skills. My inspiration comes from the world around me, either in the landscape or the creatures within it. My mantra has become my hashtag #nevertoooldtofollowyourdreams, so if you fancy doing something,
