My art journey is a bit of a stop start affair, at the grand age of 8 or possibly 9 I won an art prize at school. As you can imagine I was highly delighted and thought that was it I had made it, until someone at senior school laughed at my picture, being a sensitive teen the paints were put away for a good many years. Working in school the love of art crept out but didn’t take myself seriously, after all it was only a school notice board or the occasional art lesson! Throughout my life I have picked up the paint brushes only to put them down again due to life commitments and confidence until covid hit. Like many of us a huge evaluation of life happened and at 63 I decided to be brave and this time show other people what I had created, scary but exciting too. I love that I am constantly learning and hopefully improving my skills. My mantra has become my hashtag #never to old to follow your dreams.
