I am an amateur artist working mainly in pen, ink and watercolour on layered paper and in acrylic paint on wood. I get easily diverted into other mediums and crafts and and have far too many hobbies. I am currently taking a break from employment – I work in communications which means planning, writing and designing social media, website content and podcasting. It’s fun at times but working remotely was killing my soul and a terrible distraction from art. If I ever have to go into another ‘breakout room’ with five people I barely know, to discuss values and mission -driven objectives I will stab myself in the back of the hand with a 4H pencil.

I keep a weekly art journal to record the food I’ve eaten, walks I’ve taken and any existential crises I’ve had. It’s a great way to develop drawing and lettering skills and to troll oligarchs with fascist tendencies, using a loose and playful line. Without it I wouldn’t be producing any meaningful work, but my house would be a lot cleaner.

I’m delighted to be a part of Art in Poundbury and to have a picture in the Winter Exhibition. I look forward to meeting you there.
