Pickle & Stitch

Memories….. they take so many different forms , encompassing our senses…..it is with this in mind that I transfer these elements of “memories” into my work. The jewellery pieces I make are mostly multi-sensory, incorporating touch, sight and sound, whether it’s feeling the textured, hammered surface or listening to the tinkling sound of interlocking silver circles which also feature in my work as I enjoy exploring the links to nature, eternity, harmony and unity.

When I was little you could always find me hoarding a variety of found treasures ( no change there!) I suppose this was the beginnings of affinity to precious metals, stones, beads and threads. Fast forward to 2008, when I enrolled on to an Silversmithing course, which led me to embrace my fascination with all things reflective. The shiny, sparkly nature of metals have only forged the connection , I have with the Sea and the way light interacts with its surface, whether it’s Sunlight, Moonlight or even Starlight.

My Makers Mark (LJM) is registered with the London Assay Office.
