Sarah Jayne Jefferies

Sarah Jayne Jefferies is a Dorset artist who works mainly in Acrylic based, mixed media abstract paintings. Sarah has always been interested in creative subjects, gaining a Bachelor Degree in Lens Based Media and subsequently worked within numerous creative professions for the past 20 years. Sarah has formed an intertest in capturing her local area and is enjoying engaging in the painting process. Inspired by the varied landscapes of the South West, Sarah focuses her work on the seasons and changes in weather; paying particular attention to the changing light and colour. She manages to express both of these elements through combining different mediums and using a variation of mark making processes. Sarah’s paintings have an fascinating way of creating a composition using vibrant colour, confident bold lines and involving the use of texture to express the landscape. Her style of work has been described as intense, atmospheric and exciting.
