Wendy Alcock

Wendy Alcock, I am a self-taught artist based in Dorchester. My passion for drawing and painting was reignited while working as an art technician at a local school. It was there that I discovered acrylic paint, recognising its versatility and quick-drying properties. I particularly enjoy painting animals on a range of media, including wood, stone, slate, vinyl, and canvas. Most of my paintings are based on my husband’s photographs of animals we have seen during our travels in Europe and, more recently, on safari in South Africa. I sell my work at local craft and artisan markets. Pet portrait commissions are also a passion of mine, mainly created using pencil or coloured pencil.
