Lea Phillips

I am a maker of colourful stoneware ceramics, including tableware, lamp bases and individual one off pieces. All of my ceramics are wheel thrown and decorated with free abstract designs, using colourful stoneware glazes made to my own recipes. I use brushes, rollers and fine slip trailers for decorating. My decorating techniques are more typical of slip decorated pottery, but with the depth and variation of stoneware glazes.
I studied at Harrow College of Art, where I obtained an HND in studio pottery. I have also worked for the slip ware potter Mary Wondrausch in Surrey, and at Dartington pottery in Devon.
I have been a self employed potter for 25 years and also run the Happy Crab Gallery in Weymouth.
