Lucas Greenfield

Lucas is a young contemporary figurative portrait artist. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, he often uses vivid colours and distortion to exploit the expressive possibilities within the human face. His art is influenced heavily by a fascination of afro culture and music.

In 2021, during the lockdown, Lucas gained media attention when his drawing Homeless Man was selected by the Royal Academy (RA) for the Young Artists’ Summer Show (YASS) online permanent collection. He was again recognised by the RA with his oil painting Recollection in 2025.

Lucas appeared on TV in 2023 in the portrait category of BBC’s Britains Best Young Artist where he received a special commendation as a runner-up.

Lucas took part in the past two Dorset Arts Weeks, this year being held at the Vinyl Van venue, and has exhibited in the Poundbury Arts Winter Show since 2024. His art is selling at home and abroad – Australia, Brazil, Canada and the USA.
