Lisa Smith
I have always liked to make things and to paint and draw.
My first introduction to glass was on a short course at a London College and from that moment I was hooked and went on to follow a 2 year course at the City Lit, Westminister.
I have worked in all forms of glass creation including glassblowing , fusing, and flame working but I specialized in fusing and lampwork.. Learning many techniques from international glass artists.
My jewellery is very intricate and can take many hours to create and form the inclusions which feature in my beads. It taught me patience and focus!
Each bead can be a small work of art. I sometimes look at a bad and think ‘ How did I do that!’
My work has been featured on the Discovery Television Channel and in The international glass magazine ‘ Soda Times’.
Although I now paint more than I make jewelry, I still find the process wondrous.
