Lea With Jug

I make colourful wheel thrown ceramics, including a wide range of tableware, and some larger one of ceramic pieces. All the pots are fired to high stoneware temperatures in an electric kiln. I enjoy working with oxidised stoneware, as it enables me to combine the depth and texture of stoneware glazes with the decorative freedom most often associated with lower fired ceramics.

The pots are individually decorated with free and abstract designs using multiple layers of glazes made to my own recipes. Glaze development and surface design are an ongoing part of the making process. The tableware range includes mugs, bowls, jugs and lamp bases. Tableware is currently available in five different designs. My main passions are throwing, pattern, surface and colour. I also enjoy abstract art and print making, where I further explore and develop my love of surface, pattern and colour.

All the pots are hand made from my studio and shop, The Happy Crab Gallery, in Weymouth.
