Ian Hedley

I’ve lived most of my life in Dorset, the most beautiful and inspiring county on the south coast. The landscape and the sea inspire much of my work.

I work to catch the feel of a place as well as movement and light and I love how using pencil connects me and my drawing to the subject. It’s the same when I’m drawing people – a pencil provides the most direct connection between my work and the person within.

I’m a member of a couple of local art groups and regularly exhibit with them. I’ve also exhibited at Victoria Art Gallery in Bath , Wells Cathedral, and Mall Galleries in London, as well as online with the Federation of British Artists. I’m an associate member of the Society of Graphite Fine Art.
