I live and work in Poundbury as an occasional potter. Since partially retiring from a science career, I am loving the time I am able to spend in my pottery studio trying to find my artistic side. I find pottery to be a form of meditation. I am still at the stage of being excited to try all forms of pottery. I work with stoneware and porcelain clays and play with slip casting. I am yet to work to a particular style as I want to try everything. I like the fact I can start with an idea of what I want to make and clay will not do as I imagine and my pieces will develop personalities of their own. working with clay demands patience! I enjoy working on the wheel, hand building and slip casting.
I love my pieces to be full of colour, so love experimenting with colourful underglazes.
