Katie Scorgie, well established for 25 years as a Fine Artist, specialises in landscape, equestrian and canine oil paintings and drawings.

Having ridden for most of her life, including in point-to-point races, Katie has an unconscious understanding of horses, which comes out in her portrayal of all things equine. Her style is unique and instantly recognisable, achieved through instinctive, vigorous mark-making, strong draughtsmanship and channelling, bringing the essence and spirit of her subjects to life. Whatever the subject matter, whether landscape or equestrian or canine, everything in the composition is treated equally, and the viewer feels that they could be standing at that moment in time, as well as appreciating the brush strokes of the painting in their own right.

Katie has an Honours Degree in Fine Art from Plymouth University. Her most notable commission to date was serving as Artist in Residence to the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment from 2011 to 2012, the year of the Royal Wedding between the Prince and Princess of Wales, culminating in an exhibition at the Hyde Park Barracks.

Katie hosts workshops, gives talks and welcomes commissions. Her workshop and gallery, located at her home in Hinton St Mary, North Dorset, is open all year round to visitors.
