Sasha Constable is a sculptor and printmaker whose practice explores the fragility and resilience of human experience alongside the complex, interconnected systems of the natural world. A graduate of Wimbledon School of Art in 1992, she began her artistic journey with stone carving, whilst also developing a passion for relief printmaking. These two disciplines have remained enduring threads throughout her diverse and evolving practice.
Sasha’s career has also encompassed teaching, curating and project coordination. During seventeen years living and working in Cambodia, she developed and led educational art projects engaging with cultural heritage, post-conflict recovery and environmental conservation. This experience continues to inform her practice, particularly her understanding of art as a means of connecting people, place and ecological awareness.
Today, Sasha’s work is increasingly concerned with the health of rivers and the intricate relationships that sustain natural ecosystems. Through sculpture and print, she considers both the vulnerability of these environments and their capacity for renewal, inviting a closer contemplation of our own place within them. Her work is held in private collections internationally, as well as in the Royal Cambodian Art Collection. In 2026, Ipswich Museum acquired a carved relief sculpture of her ancestor, the artist John Constable, marking the 250th anniversary of his birth.
