Rebecca Guyett joins our Artist showcase series in The Duchess of Cornwall Inn for the month of April.
“I hope that my Art at the Duchess Showcase will give you a taste of the Art that I create ! I have tried to display a combination of my art subjects, mediums & techniques – all of which are varied and constantly evolving !!
My original career was in Graphic Design and often influences from this can be seen in my art.
Now working from my basement studio, I create rural & architectural landscapes in oils and also make original prints. I have developed my own unique screenprinting techniques – either using stencils or without a plate, mixing colours spontaneously onto the screen – which results in painterly effects, not usually seen in this type of print. More recently I’ve been adding linocut and monoprinting to create different textures and effects.
Because of these combinations of mixing colour and print processes most of my original prints are one-offs or small variable editions – where each piece will have its own individual characteristics.
