I have always enjoyed being creative and since retiring from teaching have been able to explore many aspects of art. I regularly attend life drawing classes which I liken to regular exercise, just as a sportsperson works out at a gym. The lockdown gave me an opportunity to delve deeper into various methods of painting and printmaking in particular by taking online courses.I am excited when pulling a print albeit sometimes frustrated. I started with a pasta- maker and progressed to an xcut die cutting machine. Recently I invested in a proper printing press presenting a range of possibilities in innovative printmaking. I gain inspiration from the Dorset countryside and also by visiting our family apartment in Spain where I often sketch people relaxing on nearby beaches. By continuing to pursue creativity in all avenues of art I stay happy and fulfilled.
