Caroline Nairn

I am a local artist having lived in Weymouth for many years and enjoy sketching and painting in the Dorset countryside often with Poundbury and Artwey art societies. My artistic journey started with taking an art A-level as an adult and progressing to an art foundation degree at Bournemouth,followed by Open College of the arts studies. Since then i Have enjoyed some painting and printing courses in Dorset and the West Country and also working on my paintings at home . The media I use are acrylic paints and collage often with printing and pastels added to produce mixed media pictures in a loose semi abstract style. I am inspired by the shapes and patterns in nature and natural forms and in reflections on water and enjoy landscapes and seascapes as a subject. Some of my favourite artists are Paul Nash and John Piper and locally the collages of Marzia Colonna and the expressive landscapes of Claire Wiltsher.
