Celebrating 200 Years of the Railway at Prince of Wales School

We were delighted to join in with the 200 Years of the Railway celebration at Prince of Wales School. The main corridor was transformed into a railway, creating a real sense of excitement. Nic Colston, the ever-enthusiastic founder of STEAM Co., organised a host of activities, from making cardboard models of Stephenson’s Rocket to launching a mini steam-powered rocket. Nic’s passion for creativity and inspiring schools truly shines through—something we at AIP really value.

Our team supported the children as they built their own dioramas for the World’s longest miniature railway, each one featuring a miniature track and a unique class theme, such as The Gruffalo, Pompeii, By the Seaside, and Dig for Victory. The children led the way with their ideas, while we adults offered tips, resources, and plenty of glue! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and, as always, left Prince of Wales School amazed by the children’s creativity, kindness, and imagination.
