Art in Poundbury is once again delighted to be collaborating with the Dorset Sunflower Trail (Maiden Castle Farm, Dorchester) organising Art in the Sunflowers – a truly uplifting event in 2024 with even more planned for 2025. This event is entirely ‘not for profit’, run by volunteers, and with all profits going to the DCH Emergency and Critical Appeal.
Saturday 9th August is the date – 10.30am to 4.00 pm. Come and paint, sketch, collage, print – whichever medium you like and whichever view YOU choose! As long as the work is created in the sunflower field it counts! Afterwards submit your work online and you never know – YOU could be one of our 10 winners! Full information below.

Children’s planned art activity 1.00pm to 2.30pm – go to registration tent on the day to join in.
To enter the Art in the Sunflower art competition all interested participants need to register with Art in Poundbury- see online registration below.
All profits raised at this event will go to the Dorset County Hospital ‘Emergency and Critical Care Appeal’ and ‘Arts in Hospital’.

Directions for walking from Poundbury to Sunflower field
There will a competition open to all participants with generous prizes in 5 categories:-
- 18+ Experienced
- 18+ Enthusiasts
- Senior – 14, up to, and including 17
- Intermediate – 10, up to, and including 13
- Junior – 5 ,up to, and including 9
Entrance fee into the painting competition INCLUDES entry to the sunflower trail.
- Each artist ’18 and over — £10 (if adult not participating in competition £5 to cover entrance)
- Each artist ’5 up to and including 17′ is — £5 ( £5 for trail, competition free).
- Under 5’s free entrance to Sunflower trail only
We also have children’s art activities planned for the duration of the trail.
