Our Summer Event will be Art in the Squares.

We invite all artists to come and join our summer en plein air painting event in the Squares of Poundbury. We plan a lighthearted day of painting and sketching in different parts of Poundbury – joining like minded people in a day of shared creativity in the great outdoors. Everything from distant views to interesting architecture is available to paint.
If you are a budding enthusiast, experienced professional or under 16 you will be welcome. Under 16s should register on the day in the Jubilee Hall between 10am and noon. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. All Under16 and Under 12 can register for free.
There will be six locations to choose from each providing a different aspect in which to be inspired. Architecture, formal squares, nature, distant views, people, even scaffolding!
Queen Mother Square, Royal Pavilion Green, The Duchy Farmhouse, Coade Square, Hayward Square and Centenary Field.
On the day all artists will be checked in at Jubilee Hall between 10am and midday.
Under 16 and Under 12 will need to return their work to Jubilee Hall by 2pm for judging. Prizes will awarded once judging is complete.
All other artists will need to return their work to Jubilee Hall by 3.30pm for judging. Prizes will awarded once judging is complete.
Six awards will be made in three categories – Experienced Artists, Enthusiastic Artists and Under 16s.
In addition to generous cash/voucher prizes all category winners will win a professionally printed and mounted fine giclee print of their winning painting along with 36 professionally printed cards. There will also be the opportunity for the winning work to be exhibited locally.
We recommend you register in advance for this event – you will then be emailed with regular updates about the details of the day. Registration costs £5.
Under 16 and Under 12 can register for free on the day.
