Caroline Crawford

I spent my working life as a teacher in South West London. Art and especially ceramics have always been important to me. So, now retired and living on the Jurassic coast, I am excited to rekindle my love of working with clay.
I take inspiration from the country side around me and the view from my garden across the vales down to the coast and the sea. I enjoy the process of throwing and creating forms that are inspired by the beautiful Jurassic coast. I incise, impress, paint or slip trail a loose design onto the clay. After the first firing it is embellished with underglazes and transfers and then re-fired with a clear glaze. My hand built and thrown pieces are made with Black Stoneware, White Stoneware or fine white Porcelain. This collection includes pots, coasters, vases, bowls, wall hangings and Christmas decorations.
