I graduated with a Fine Art Degree in 1990. Although predominantly a painter, I also spent the next 10 years sculpting for two local companies; one creating clay figures, and one creating cement and fibreglass aquarium habitats. I have always enjoyed painting landscapes and seascapes, and living in a family run diving holiday business, and enjoying underwater photography myself, soon developed a love of portraying life under the waves. I work mainly in oils, acrylics, and watercolours, although I have been known to pick up a pastel or piece of charcoal too. From about 2004 I began to take on portrait commissions, gradually building in confidence, and working with multiple figures in a landscape . My work is about colour and texture, detail and contrasts, and how they work together to create that moment in time.
