DESCRIPTION:Clay collage with Julie Adlard\n\n\nJulie is a Dorset based pro
 fessional artist and exhibits in galleries in the South West of England. S
 he has demonstrated widely including at Art In Action and Henley Festival.
 \n\nHaving studied Combined Craft Design at South Bank University and Adva
 nced Ceramics and Painting at Kingston College Julie wanted to use both of
  these elements in her work.\n\nJulie explores surface texture and pattern
 \, working with mixed media in a unique way using air drying clay\, fabric
 s and embossing templates to create tactile collage paintings. The composi
 tions are over painted with many layers of acrylics and glazes\n\nHer insp
 iration comes from her love of  landscapes and harbours as well as places
  from her travels. Her work is bright and bold and has a naivety that make
 s you want to smile. Julie creates work that gives an emotional response t
 o a place and the harbour scenes especially create a feeling of nostalgia 
 and homecoming.\n\nJulie will bring examples of her work showing the proce
 ss from beginning to end and will be happy to chat to visitors about the c
